Dr. Audrey L. Canaff received her B.A. in Psychology from
the State University of New York and her Masters in Psychology from New
York University.
She received her PhD in Counseling from Mississippi
State University.
Dr. Canaff is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Tennessee
and is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
Dr.
Canaff has over 20 years of experience in the human
services field including counseling individuals, children and families,
administration, grant writing, program development and private
practice. Dr.
Canaff has been a UC Foundation Assistant Professor at the University
of Tennessee at Chattanooga
in the Graduate Counseling Program. Prior to joining the University
of Tennessee system, Dr.
Canaff
worked in the private sector as a Career Management Consultant in the
outplacement field. Currently, she is in private practice in
individual,
marriage and family counseling and consulting in the areas of career
management
and human resources. She is an adjunct faculty member in the graduate
counseling program at Argosy
University
in Atlanta, and The School
of
Continuing Education at Hofstra
University
and at New York University’s
School of
Continuing Education
and Professional Studies. She is a regular contributor to “The
Counseling
Corner” a nationally syndicated column and “Exceptional Parent”
magazine. She
appears regularly on WRCB-TV in Chattanooga,
TN on Eyewitness News AM discussing career issues.
Her research interests include trauma related disorders in
adults, children and adolescents, marriage and family counseling, and
adult
career development. Dr. Canaff has served as Editor of Global Visions
for
Counseling Professionals, the journal of the Tennessee Counseling
Association
(TCA) and has been active in leadership roles in the National
Employment
Counselors Association (NECA), a division of the American Counseling
Association (ACA).
